Atelier Fitness Ltd · Mauritius
Operations & Community Manager
The operational engine of Atelier Fitness in Mauritius: events, partners, coaches and the member experience.
About Atelier Fitness
Atelier Fitness is building a community around sport, wellbeing and experiences. From Mauritius, the operations team helps organise and develop events in France and Mauritius, sports trips, a network of premium partners and a pool of coaches and talent.
Your role
You are the operational engine of Atelier Fitness in Mauritius. You turn ideas into real experiences, coordinate everyone involved and look after the quality of the member experience. The role calls for autonomy, responsiveness and a genuine ability to be out on the ground.
Your responsibilities
1. Organising events & experiences
- Prepare and coordinate Run & Brunch, Bootcamps, Hyrox Challenges, sports weekends, sports trips and masterclasses.
- Build the timeline, the budget and the operational checklist for every event.
- Find and book venues, suppliers, coaches, restaurants, hotels, transport and any other logistical needs.
- Manage registrations, participant lists, pre-event communications and post-event follow-up.
- Be present at some events in Mauritius when needed and handle coordination on the ground.
- Help organise Atelier Fitness events in France remotely.
2. Building the partner network
- Prospect for partners: osteopaths, physiotherapists, nutritionists, massage studios, hotels, restaurants, guides, wellness businesses, sports brands, and so on.
- Make contact, present Atelier Fitness, negotiate the terms of collaboration and formalise the offers.
- Hold meetings and site visits in Mauritius.
- Build lasting relationships with partners and track their satisfaction and performance.
3. Finding coaches, interns & talent
- Identify and approach sports coaches suited to the different Atelier Fitness formats.
- Look for interns for the activities in Mauritius and in the Paris region.
- Take part in first conversations and the shortlisting of candidates.
- Gradually build a pool of coaches, freelancers, photographers, videographers and hosts.
4. Community management & member experience
- Answer participant and member requests with a high level of service.
- Prepare event communications: emails, reminders, practical information and satisfaction surveys.
- Contribute to social media, newsletters and operational content.
- Gather participant feedback and suggest improvements.
5. Operational management
- Track budgets, suppliers, deadlines and performance indicators.
- Keep the tracking tools up to date and produce regular reports for the founders.
- Spot problems early and propose solutions rather than waiting for instructions.
- Help put processes in place as Atelier Fitness grows.
Who we are looking for
- Highly organised, rigorous and able to manage several projects at once.
- Autonomous, resourceful and solutions-oriented.
- Excellent people skills and a real customer-service instinct.
- Comfortable with prospecting, negotiation and working with partners.
- Fluent French and a good level of English; proficiency in Mauritian Creole is a real asset.
- Comfortable with digital tools and collaborative working environments.
- A strong interest in sport, wellbeing, events and premium experiences.
- A driving licence is desirable, to make meetings, visits and travel around the island easier.
Flexibility & the reality of the role
Sport and events do not run only from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00. Some events, meetings or operations may take place early in the morning, in the evening or at the weekend. We are therefore looking for someone flexible in how they organise their time, with time off and planning adjusted accordingly, and ready to travel regularly in Mauritius.
Culture fit
- Move things forward with energy and a sense of responsibility.
- Take the initiative, while knowing how to communicate quickly when a decision needs to be made.
- Enjoy being on the ground as much as organising.
- Hold high standards for the customer experience and the quality of execution.
- Work with an entrepreneurial mindset: in the early days, everyone contributes beyond a strict remit.
Tools & skills we value
- Google Workspace / Microsoft 365
- Notion or an equivalent project management tool
- Canva
- Meta Business Suite
- CRM (HubSpot or equivalent)
- Stripe or other payment / booking tools
- AI tools: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini
Indicative goals & KPIs
- Events — Organise and coordinate at least 2 events a month once a steady pace is reached.
- Occupancy — Aim for at least 80% occupancy on events open for booking.
- Satisfaction — Aim for an average satisfaction score of at least 4.5/5 after events.
- Partnerships — Build an active pipeline and sign new qualified partners every month.
- Talent — Maintain an active pool of available coaches and operational profiles.
- Customer service — Answer member requests within 1 working day on average.
- Loyalty — Track and grow the share of participants who come back for another event.
Recruitment process
- A first conversation: background, motivation, availability and understanding of the project.
- An interview with the founders: autonomy, culture fit, sense of service and ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
- A practical exercise: build a short organisation plan for a first Atelier Fitness event (budget, suppliers, schedule, communication, risks and a plan B).
- A final conversation and reference checks if needed.
Growth
This role is designed to grow with the company. A high performer will be able to take on a broader remit over time and move into a Head of Operations role at Atelier Fitness.
